Plastic Film Recycling Line
Plastic film is a thin sheet of plastic material used for wrapping or covering things. It is also referred to as stretch film sometimes. Plastic film products such as shopping bags, food bag/wrap, shrink wrap, agricultural covering film etc. are widely used in our daily life. Most plastic film products are made of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) and are recyclable. Plastic film recycling line is a complete system to recycle plastic film in a more efficient way.
A typical plastic film recycling line includes following equipment and processes:
– Conveyor: for feeding plastic film into or shredder or granulator
– Shredder/Granulator: for reducing the size of waste plastic film into small pieces, facilitating further washing and drying process.
– Pre-Washer: for primary cleaning plastic film pieces after size reduction
– Sink-Float Separation Tank: for separating contaminants which are heavier than water
– Friction Washer: for further cleaning of material
– Horizontal Centrifugal Dryer: for dewatering the plastic film pieces after cleaning
– Drying System: hot air drying of the product
After size reduction, washing and drying, the processed materials can be further turned into small pellets or post-consumer resin through pelletizing process. The reclaimed pellets and/or resin can be used as raw material to make new plastic based products such as new bags, containers, plastic lumber, pipes, etc.
