Fiberglass and FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) materials are widely used across marine, construction, automotive, and wind energy industries. However, their high strength, abrasion resistance, and composite structure make disposal difficult and costly. The PROSINO Fiberglass Size Reduction Line provides a complete, industrial solution to efficiently shred, granulate, and collect fiberglass waste into manageable recyclable particles — reducing disposal cost while improving sustainability.

Why Fiberglass Requires Specialized Size Reduction

Fiberglass differs from conventional plastics because it combines resin with glass fibers, creating challenges such as:

  • High blade wear
  • Dust generation
  • Tough, bulky scrap shapes
  • Difficult handling and transportation

Our engineered system is specifically designed to handle abrasive composite materials safely and continuously.

Typical Fiberglass Materials Processed

  • Fiberglass sheets & panels
  • FRP molded parts
  • Boat hulls and marine composites
  • Wind turbine blade scrap
  • Fiberglass tanks and pipes
  • Automotive composite components
  • SMC / BMC production waste

Complete Fiberglass Size Reduction Workflow

1. Feeding System

Heavy-duty belt conveyors or steel chain conveyors enable safe, stable, and continuous loading of bulky fiberglass waste materials into the processing line.
Automated feeding improves operational safety and reduces manual handling.

2. Primary Shredding

A double shaft shredder performs slow-speed, high-torque cutting to break large fiberglass parts into coarse strips or chunks.

Output size: 40–80 mm

This stage prepares materials for efficient downstream processing.

3. Secondary Granulation

A heavy-duty granulator further reduces shredded fiberglass into uniform particles suitable for recycling, transport, or compaction.

Final particle size: 10–24 mm (adjustable)

Uniform particles improve conveying efficiency and baler compression performance.

4. Automatic Conveying

Screw conveyors, belt conveyors, or pneumatic conveying systems automatically transfer fiberglass particles between machines and toward the baling system.

Benefits include:

  • Continuous material flow
  • Reduced labor requirements
  • Stable feeding to baler

5. Dust Control System

Fiberglass processing generates fine airborne fibers requiring effective dust management.

The integrated dust control system includes:

This ensures operator safety and a clean production environment.

6. Hydraulic Baling & Compression

Instead of loose material collection, shredded fiberglass is conveyed directly into a hydraulic baler.

Inside the baler:

  • High hydraulic pressure compresses lightweight fiberglass particles
  • Material volume is greatly reduced
  • Dense, transport-ready bales are formed

Advantages of baling fiberglass:

  • Up to 80–90% volume reduction
  • Lower transportation cost
  • Cleaner storage & handling
  • Improved downstream recycling logistics

7. Bale Discharge & Final Handling

Finished fiberglass bales are automatically ejected and prepared for:

  • Warehouse storage
  • Recycling shipment
  • Disposal logistics
  • Export transportation

Bales can be handled by forklifts or automated conveying systems.
